Changelog
New features are described in detail; fixes get one line about what became more reliable. Versions are versions of the bridge on the PC (the bridgerator package); server and site changes are listed with the release of the same day. How to install and check a version — Install and verify.
1.1.15
- The current version with one command. While Bridgerator is in review for the OpenAI app store, the site has two channels: the current version (
install-latest.ps1, recommended) and the version sent for review (install.ps1). Both are the signed Windows app, no Node.js and no admin rights. - Install and verify. The home page shows the version, the SHA-256 of the script and the package, the npm package integrity and PowerShell commands to check the hash and the signature; the same for programs — /.well-known/install.json. Security lists what is installed, where it writes, autostart, which servers it connects to, how to uninstall and how to compare the package with the source on GitLab.
- The service knows the bridge version. When it connects, the bridge tells its version, so we can see who runs an old one and suggest an update. Nothing else about the PC is sent.
- The install script on the site passes the Windows signature check again.
1.1.14
- ChatGPT changes any setting from the chat. Line limits for reading and writing files, the terminal shell, blocked commands, turning single tools on and off, your own confirmation patterns, updating Bridgerator — just ask in the chat. Changes apply at once; with "Ask before the AI changes settings" on, lowering protection waits for Apply on the PC.
- No separate setup step. The defaults are a finished setup; ChatGPT limits access only when you ask.
- More reliable: file preview buttons in the chat, terminal command checks.
1.1.10 – 1.1.13
- config.json edits apply at once. Change the settings file by hand or with a script — the bridge picks it up without a restart and shows a "Bridgerator settings changed" notice listing the real changes.
- No duplicates in the queue. If the same step is already open in the queue, ChatGPT does not add it again and names it (you can still add it if you ask).
- Line limits from the chat (1.1.13): how many lines of a file ChatGPT reads and writes at a time.
- More reliable: folders excluded in the settings; settings notices.
1.1.2 – 1.1.9
- .ps1 scripts in the terminal. PowerShell in ChatGPT's terminal runs your
.ps1scripts (the execution policy changes for that process only). - Stalled task notice. When a queue task has no progress for 10 minutes, Windows shows a notice; it also says what to do about ChatGPT's "model is at capacity" error (retry or pick another model).
- "Let ChatGPT work without asking". The first step in the Bridgerator window opens the plugin's permission page in ChatGPT, where you choose Allow all.
- More reliable: terminal commands that mention Bridgerator (refused only when a command changes or stops Bridgerator itself); reading files in allowed folders; the window of a second instance.
1.1.1
- Update with a button. The Update button in the Bridgerator window installs the new version by itself, no console.
- Descriptions for the ChatGPT store. Every tool carries exact "read only" / "changes data" hints; ChatGPT sees one tool per action.
- More reliable: Telegram notification language, Russian settings texts, installing from more than one server.
1.1.0
- A Windows app without Node.js. The installer puts the signed
bridgerator.exe(x64 or ARM64) on the PC — nothing else to install. Every file is checked by SHA-256 before it runs. - The Bridgerator window. A tray icon (online / offline / paused) and a window with tabs: status, task queue, recent actions, safety, notifications, settings. Changes made from the chat show up in the window at once.
- PC tools.
bridgerator doctorchecks the install and the link and says what to do; Word / Excel / PDF documents without Office; instant search (Everything → the Windows index → a plain scan); photos: date, camera, smaller copies, renaming by the date taken; programs through winget; a PC check (disks and their health, event-log errors, startup programs, drivers, updates); screenshots and text recognition built into Windows. - Recipes and schedules. Ready-made jobs — back up a folder, clean up old downloads, sort by file type, a disk space report, update apps. ChatGPT runs one now or puts it in Windows Task Scheduler; scheduled runs go without the AI and spend no calls.
- Plan card. With confirmations on, a big job (say, moving 214 files) is shown as one plan and asked once on the PC: Allow all / Review… / Deny.
- AI ↔ AI. ChatGPT hands a task to Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI on your PC — with your own subscription, in a folder you choose, with time limits; file changes are undone with one click. Other AIs hand tasks to ChatGPT through the queue.
- Recycle Bin and Undo. Simple deletes go to the Recycle Bin; a copy is kept before a file changes (7 days), "Undo AI changes" puts files back.
- Telegram notifications. @BridgeratorBot messages you when the queue is done, a task failed or a computer has been offline for a while — only the PC name, counts and statuses.
- More reliable and secure: path and command checks, the service's data storage, payments.
1.0.6 – 1.0.8
- Connecting without a key. The install command opens a browser tab with a code: check it and press "Connect this computer" — no key to copy.
- 10,000 free calls a month, any number of computers.
- A new account page. Computers, a usage chart, the plan, settings and theme.
- More reliable: autostart, reconnecting after a key change, updating and full uninstall, installing under the default PowerShell policy.
1.0.1 – 1.0.5
- Accounts and payments. Sign-up on the site, sign-in with Google or e-mail; Pro — a card subscription or 30 days in rubles through YooKassa. Plan reminders come as Windows notifications and never appear inside ChatGPT.
- The site in English and Russian, guides, a contact form.
- More reliable: command output on non-English Windows, notifications.
1.0.0
- First release. The bridge on a Windows PC gives ChatGPT files (read, write, edit, move, search), the PowerShell / cmd terminal and processes. The bridge connects out to the server — no inbound port is opened on the PC. Several computers per account; ChatGPT picks one by name.
