Troubleshooting: PC offline, sign-in problems, limits
Most problems come down to three things: the bridge on the PC isn't running, ChatGPT isn't signed in to the right account, or a limit was reached. Start with the quick check below; then find your symptom.
The quick check
On the PC, open PowerShell and run:
bridgerator.cmd status
It prints the settings (the key is masked) and the last lines of the log. The line linked to relay means the bridge is connected and ChatGPT can reach this PC. The full log is in %APPDATA%\. On the account page, each computer is shown as online or offline.
ChatGPT says no computer is connected
The PC is off, asleep, or nobody is signed in
The bridge runs as your user and starts when you sign in to Windows. A PC that is off, asleep, or sitting at the sign-in screen after a reboot is not reachable. Wake it and sign in; the bridge reconnects by itself within moments.
The bridge is not running
Run bridgerator.cmd setup in PowerShell: it rewrites the autostart task and starts the bridge again, keeping your key and folder settings. Then check bridgerator.cmd status for linked to relay.
The log shows an authentication error
The device key is wrong, or the computer was removed on the account page. Run bridgerator.cmd setup --pair in PowerShell: a browser tab opens, confirm the computer and the bridge gets a new key.
The network blocks the connection
The bridge needs an outbound HTTPS/WebSocket connection to mcp.bridgerator.recondeck.com on port 443. Strict corporate firewalls or proxies may block it; try another network to confirm. After a network drop the bridge reconnects automatically.
ChatGPT is signed in to a different Bridgerator account
The connector sees only the computers of the account you signed in with. If you have two accounts, remove the connector in ChatGPT settings, add it again and sign in with the account that owns the PC.
Sign-in problems
"Wrong e-mail or password"
Check the keyboard layout and Caps Lock. After 8 failed attempts in 10 minutes, sign-in from your IP address is blocked for an hour — wait and try again.
ChatGPT asks me to sign in again
Changing your Bridgerator password revokes every access granted to ChatGPT. That is intentional: sign in again in the connector with the new password.
I signed up with Google and have no password
Sign in with Google on the Bridgerator sign-in page. If you also want e-mail sign-in, set a password on the account page.
Limits
Calls are refused with a limit message
The Free plan has 10,000 tool calls per month per account, shared by all its computers. When it runs out, your PCs stay connected but new calls are refused and nothing runs. The counter resets on the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC — or move to Pro ($10/month) and the limit is lifted right away, without reconnecting.
Pro ended
A card subscription renews monthly until you cancel. A payment with a Russian card buys 30 days of Pro in rubles without auto-renewal — pay again on the account page when it ends. After Pro ends, the account returns to Free.
Errors from tools
"Access denied" or a path error
The folder is outside allowedDirectories or inside deniedDirectories. Edit %APPDATA%\ and run bridgerator.cmd setup. See which folders ChatGPT can see.
A command is refused
It is on the blocked list (built-in or your own blockedCommands), or it names an excluded folder. See running PowerShell safely.
ChatGPT doesn't see the terminal tools
They are listed in disabledTools. Remove them from the list and run bridgerator.cmd setup. Also make sure the Bridgerator connector is enabled in the current chat.
Updating and reinstalling
To update the bridge, run the same install line from the account page again — your key and folder settings are kept. To remove it completely (program, settings, key and the Node.js it installed): bridgerator.cmd uninstall --all, then remove this computer on the account page.
Still stuck?
Use the contact form or write to info@recondeck.com. Include your account e-mail, the computer name and the last lines of bridgerator.cmd status. Never send your password or device key.
